Publication Ethics
Vanguard: Journal of Contemporary Business Insight is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and takes all possible measures against publication malpractice. The journal follows the principles and guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) to ensure ethical conduct in scholarly publishing.
All parties involved in the publication process including authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher are expected to adhere to the following ethical standards.
1. Responsibilities of Authors
- Originality and Plagiarism
Authors must ensure that their manuscripts are original works and have not been published previously or submitted simultaneously to another journal. Proper citation and acknowledgment of other works must be provided. - Data Accuracy
Authors should present accurate data and objective discussion in their manuscripts. Fabrication, falsification, or manipulation of research data is considered unethical. - Multiple or Redundant Publication
Authors should not publish the same research in more than one journal or primary publication. - Authorship of the Paper
Authorship should be limited to those who have made significant contributions to the research. All co-authors must approve the final version of the manuscript. - Acknowledgment of Sources
Authors must properly acknowledge the work of others and cite publications that have influenced the research. - Conflict of Interest
Authors must disclose any financial or other conflicts of interest that may influence the results or interpretation of their manuscript.
2. Responsibilities of Editors
- Publication Decisions
Editors are responsible for deciding which manuscripts should be published based on the journal’s editorial policy, the importance of the work, and the reviewers’ recommendations. - Fair Evaluation
Editors evaluate manuscripts solely based on their academic merit without discrimination regarding the authors’ race, gender, nationality, or institutional affiliation. - Confidentiality
Editors must not disclose any information about submitted manuscripts to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, or publisher as appropriate. - Conflict of Interest
Editors should avoid handling manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest.
3. Responsibilities of Reviewers
- Contribution to Editorial Decisions
Peer review assists editors in making editorial decisions and helps authors improve their manuscripts. - Confidentiality
Reviewers must treat all manuscripts received for review as confidential documents. - Objectivity
Reviews should be conducted objectively with constructive feedback and without personal criticism. - Acknowledgment of Sources
Reviewers should identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors. - Conflict of Interest
Reviewers should not evaluate manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest.
4. Ethical Oversight
The editorial board of Vanguard: Journal of Contemporary Business Insight will take appropriate actions when ethical concerns arise, including plagiarism, duplicate publication, data fabrication, or other forms of academic misconduct. If necessary, the journal may reject, retract, or correct published articles to maintain the integrity of the scientific record.
